SILVERTHREAD OUTDOOR RECREATION CLUB OF THE SAN LUIS VALLEY
A NONPROFIT (501C4) CORPORATION
P.O, BOX 343, SOUTH FORK, CO 81154-0343
Dear members and applicants
The Silver Thread Outdoor Recreation Club of the San Luis Valley is comprised of people who enjoy outdoor activities. Our purpose is to preserve the multi-use of our magnificent outdoors, have fun, develop friendships, enjoy fellowship and support others in responsible use of the wilderness. For further information, visit our website at www.silverthreaders.org.
We have organized snowmobile and ATV rides during the year; we also organize snowshoe and hiking trips. We encourage members to organize any other outdoor activity they enjoy, such as fishing, hunting, camping, skiing, motorcycling or simply the pleasure of our members company. Our club clears and maintains motorized and hiking trails on USFS and BLM land throughout the summer. In the winter we use our Piston Bully Sno-Cat Groomer to maintain snowmobile trails. Our club also works with the USFS to preserve and improve access to public land and to promote responsible use of the forests.
Our membership year is from September 1 to the following August 31 (monies received after May 31 will be applied to the following year). Our club dues are $45.00 for a family membership. Or $60 for a business membership (tax deductible), which includes an ad in the Snowscoop newspaper distributed to all snowmobilers.
Our club meetings are at 7:00 PM, preceded by a potluck supper at 6:30PM on the third Tuesday of the month. Your support is appreciated and needed even if you can’t make every meeting. We will continue to support events that allow all people to enjoy the outdoors.
