ADVENTURES & PARTNERSHIPS

Wayforward

- Del Norte, CO

Partnering with local organizations is a priority. Some of our adventures throughout the years include a three night backpack trip with local outfitting group Wayforward Adventures where we summited Bennet peak at sunrise and swam in a high alpine lake. We’ve also enjoyed rail-biking with Revolution Rail, ski clinics at Wolf Creek Ski Area, volunteering at the Alder Ass donkey races, working on trail maintenance with Volunteers of Colorado, chainsaw classes and certifications with SLVGO!, CPR certifications through the Forest Service and Volunteers of Colorado, and other day trip adventures like playing in the waterfall at Zapata falls while visiting Great Sand Dunes National Park.

Have an idea? Throw it out there to the group at one of our potlucks or hikes and let’s go have some fun.

PARTIES

Seasonal

On top of the monthly potlucks on the third Tuesday of every month, the Silverthread Outdoor Club hosts several seasonal parties and gatherings throughout the year for its members. These soirees include pop up picnics at various campgrounds and locations, the end-of-summer BBQ bash in September and a holiday soiree in December.

SERVICE

Adopt-A-Highway
Mile Markers 185-187

Two kids in orange safety vests holding trash bags at the Silverthreader highway clean up

Service is one of our founding pillars of the club. We honor our community by sponsoring two local trails and hosting regular trail work days. Some of our favorite partner organizations include Volunteers of Colorado, Rio Grande Forest, our local Divide Ranger District, and the Town of South Fork.

The Silverthreaders also head up bi-annual highway cleanups in both the spring and fall and are the official sponsors of mile markers 185-187 on Hwy 160. Prizes awarded for the weirdest item collected. (And we’ve seen some WEIRD items!)
